Project Haerenga

Project Haerenga was the first game prototype developed by Hanga Maken Studio. Funded by the Matauranga Maori Research Fund it is an adventure where you take control of one of Maui’s brothers, the player navigates a large overworld, sailing between islands and helping Maui in his quest to tame the sun. The prototype was completed and presented to Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori before the team moved on to other projects.
